• High-income countries in East Asia are among the most innovative and generous in the world. They are crucial partners for our foundation as we work to remove the barriers that prevent the poorest people from living healthy and productive lives.
• Foreign aid from East Asia, whether directed to less wealthy countries within the Asia-Pacific region or to global initiatives (such as Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; CEPI; the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative), is helping to save lives all around the world. We work closely with donor agencies and organizations to align our activities and to raise the profile of global health and development efforts.
• We work closely with private-sector innovators to develop new tools, including vaccines and treatments, to address diseases that affect the world’s poorest people. By harnessing the advanced technology and manufacturing capabilities of East Asian nations, the world can accelerate progress toward eliminating infectious diseases and improving lives everywhere.
